CLIENTS & CASES

Over the past 25 years, I have had the privilege of working with organisations across industries, sectors and countries to design and deliver impactful mentoring programmes.

From global corporations and public sector organisations to professional associations and educational institutions, each collaboration has provided valuable insights into how mentoring can support leadership development, talent development, inclusion and organisational growth.

While every organisation is unique, they share a common ambition: to create meaningful development opportunities for their people, build organisational capability and achieve lasting results through mentoring.

Below is a selection of these organisations along with references and cases from clients who have experienced the impact of the Mentor+™ Approach.

"Working with Kirsten M. Poulsen on the CBS MBA Career Mentor Programme was a genuine pleasure. Her passion for mentoring, combined with her ability to engage and inspire people, created a fantastic start to the programme.

At the kick-off, Kirsten facilitated an evening filled with energy, reflection and meaningful conversations. Through her introduction to Modern Mentoring and the Mentor+Game, mentors and mentees gained a deeper understanding of the mentoring relationship, explored the many roles mentors can play, and had the opportunity to build connections and learn from one another.

What impressed us most was Kirsten's ability to create an environment where everyone felt welcome and encouraged to participate. With close to 70 mentors and mentees in the room, she succeeded in creating both structure and engagement while maintaining a warm and personal atmosphere.

The session gave participants a strong foundation for their mentoring journey and left them feeling motivated, confident and excited about the months ahead. We would not hesitate to recommend Kirsten to organisations seeking to create impactful mentoring programmes and memorable learning experiences."

Louise Hegelund Waaben & Malene Sejer Larsen, Careers Managers, CBS MBA Programmes

“Kirsten M. Poulsen has contributed with great enthusiasm and empathy to the fact that we in Realkredit Denmark have established a successful mentoring program where experienced managers are mentors for new managers. Kirsten M. Poulsen’s significant experience and great professional ballast have been a significant asset to the mentoring program, which has helped develop both mentors and mentees.“

Henrik Blavnsfeldt, Assistant Director, Realkredit Danmark

"As a programme manager, I have seen KMP+ House of Mentoring deliver a structured and practice-oriented programme and training built around clearly defined mentor roles, creating clarity, alignment of expectations, and progression within mentoring relationships. These roles have helped balance support and challenge, strengthened purposeful development for mentees, and increased mentors’ role awareness and effectiveness.

At the same time, the expert guidance and support provided by Kirsten M. Poulsen on the development, design and structuring of mentoring programmes has been particularly valuable."

Lise Dan, Programme Manager & AI Ambassador IDA, Danish Society of Engineers

"I have had the pleasure of working with Kirsten on the design and delivery of a mentor workshop. Kirsten brings strong professional expertise and confident facilitation skills, creating a safe and engaging learning environment. She is particularly skilled at combining practical tools with reflection and dialogue, enabling participants not only to gain new insights but also to apply them directly to their own practice.

The workshop increased the mentors’ awareness of different mentoring roles and their ability to actively switch between them. At the same time, the format provided an excellent framework for peer learning and the exchange of experiences, which participants found highly valuable. There was a good balance between presentations and dialogue, and the content was tailored to the target audience in a way that made it directly applicable to their role as mentors.

Throughout our collaboration, I experienced Kirsten as a professional and attentive sparring partner who is highly skilled at identifying needs and translating them into a relevant and focused programme. I can highly recommend her as a facilitator and collaborative partner in the development of mentoring programmes."

Cecilia Beenfeldt, Senior Consultant, Danish Medical Association

"Kirsten has been an invaluable sparring partner in my role as programme manager for a mentoring programme for female leaders at Demant. She has a unique ability to provide practical ideas and concrete suggestions on complex challenges while also asking the sharp, thought-provoking questions that open up new perspectives. Our conversations have helped me move beyond fixed patterns of thinking and behaviour, enabling me to make progress and find solutions when I might otherwise have felt stuck."

“The Guidance provided by KMP+ to me as a mentor has been valuable for both my mentee and me. The Workbook and supplemental materials provided a good framework for the ongoing dialogs with my mentee.”

John Galyen, President, Danfoss North America, mentor

“Management is the ability to deliver results through employees. The better you get at this, the easier it becomes to outperform your competitors. Being a mentor gives me continuous training to become a better leader.”

Marit Lambrechts, mentor

“The mentor training gave me time to reflect and the chance to learn new things. It's helped me become a better leader.”

Kristin K. Devold, Secretary General of Norwegian Tourist Association

“At UiO, we are now planning for the 10th mentoring programme for female postdocs with the help of KMP+ House of Mentoring and IML. We are happy with the collaboration and impressed with the methodology and tools provided by KMP+ House of Mentoring. Working in academia is different from in other public and private organizations, and we have found that the consultants from KMP+ and IML are extremely good at adapting their facilitation and communication style to academia and the different generations in academia - i.e. both the professors (the mentors) and the postdocs who are very diverse in age and nationality. It is a pleasure working with the consultants as we co-create the programme and continuously adapt the contents of the workshops to the changing needs of the participants.“

"For CBS, it is essential that the mentors we match with our students are well prepared for the mentoring role and equipped with practical tools they can use in their meetings with mentees. Our mentors play a vital role in helping students understand a labour market that is constantly evolving, offering perspectives on career opportunities, and creating valuable opportunities for reflection and development.

Each year, we invite new mentors to participate in mentor preparation workshops. These workshops support the significant diversity within the CBS Mentoring Programme, which includes participants from more than 60 nationalities, 25 international locations, and a wide range of career paths, organisations and levels of experience. Mentors are prepared to work effectively with this diversity – both in group settings and one-to-one relationships – while also gaining insights into the future labour market, employer expectations and the current needs we observe among our students.

Over the past seven years, Kirsten M. Poulsen has been a key partner in the development and delivery of these workshops and has contributed valuable tools and frameworks for the mentoring role. Her contribution has significantly enhanced the quality of the workshops and, consequently, the overall programme. Mentors have gained practical tools that they use both in their relationships with mentees and in their broader professional roles. In particular, the introduction of Situational Mentoring and the 10 Mentor Roles developed by KMP+ House of Mentoring has provided mentors with a clear and practical language for understanding their role and has strengthened their ability to adapt their approach to the individual mentee and their specific needs.

Overall, Kirsten’s contribution has played an important role in strengthening the quality and value created through the CBS Mentoring Programme – benefiting mentors, mentees and CBS alike. We look forward to continuing our collaboration on the development and delivery of mentor workshops."

Berit Jebjerg, Project Manager & Career Counsellor, CBS CAREERS
